The state capital of Wiesbaden, represented by TriWiCon, and the car park operator CONTIPARK will extend the action agreed upon for the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) underground car park in summer 2020 to revitalise the city centre at least until the end of 2020. This was agreed on by representatives of both sides in internal talks this week. Both cooperation partners cited as the reason for this decision the intention to increase the attractiveness of the city centre, to strengthen the retailers for the upcoming Christmas business and to provide residents and guests of the city with a convenient way to get there.
Even though the effects of the pandemic are still being felt everywhere and will continue to be so for some time to come, the inner-city retailers hope for the highest possible sales in Advent business. The citizens of the city and its environs also hope for an Advent season that leaves room for contemplation and cherished traditions such as a Christmas stroll through the shops. Parking facilities close to the city centre are accordingly in demand.
Since the summer of this year, the state capital of Wiesbaden and the car park operator CONTIPARK have been supporting people in their need for individual mobility by significantly reducing parking fees in the RMCC underground car park, thus providing an important economic stimulus. Since then, numerous motorists have been taking advantage of the offer despite corona conditions. This is also confirmed by CONTIPARK managing director Michael Kesseler: “The increased frequency of use of the parking facility and the feedback from our customers on site show it – the reduction of the daily rate to 4.50 euros has proven to be a good measure during the pandemic to further increase the safety of motorists and the attractiveness of Wiesbaden’s city centre”. As both aspects are still of immense importance in the unchanged situation, the decision was made to continue the cooperation for the time being and to maintain the favourable rates during the Christmas season.
“I welcome the fact that partner companies like CONTIPARK are coming up with something to make the Christmas season as normal as possible for everyone,” said Mayor Dr. Oliver Franz. This also includes the possibility of parking at the RMCC at a reasonable price while doing your Christmas errands in the city centre, practically around the corner. “Because many people long for a little normality, especially against the background of the Advent season that is now beginning,” adds Oliver Franz.
With the RheinMain CongressCenter underground car park, motorists have not only a centrally located parking facility at their disposal for their pre-Christmas errands, but also an ultra-modern parking facility. A total of 800 parking spaces, whose occupancy status can be recognised even from a distance thanks to appropriate LED signal lights, offer plenty of space for Wiesbaden residents and guests of the city – even when stowing away their Christmas shopping. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology – including several parking spaces with charging facilities for electric cars, dynamic signage and LED lighting – it sets standards in Germany and throughout Europe. This is also confirmed by the umbrella organisation of European parking space operators, the European Parking Association (EPA), which last year awarded the parking facility the European Parking Standard Award (ESPA) in gold. This seal of quality is only awarded to garages that offer their users an exceptional quality of service.
