Despite all the challenges of the past year, Contipark has also succeeded in acquiring numerous new properties in 2020. Especially in the north of Germany, the company was able to expand its portfolio significantly in the past twelve months. In total, Contipark took over 17 multi-storey car parks, underground car parks and parking lots last year. This means that the Berlin-based parking facility manager now operates around 580 parking facilities in Germany and Austria.
With the car parks “Mercado” and “Hahnenkamp” in the Hamburg district of Altona, the first takeovers already took place in January. This month Contipark also took over the car park “Waffenplatz” in Oldenburg. With 617 parking spaces, it was the acquisition with the most parking spaces of the past year.
In May, the company again secured two properties in a northern German port city. With the takeover of the car parks “Große Straße” and “Segelmacherstraße” in Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Contipark simultaneously succeeded in entering the municipal parking market. Centrally located in the city centre near the historic harbour, the two car parks together have around 350 parking spaces.
In Wilhelmshaven (car park “Börsenstraße”), in Wolfsburg (underground car park “Rothenfelder Straße”) and in Vienna (underground car park “Interspar Breitenfurter Straße”) Contipark was also able to further expand its presence in 2020. But this was especially successful in Schwerin, the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The company has acquired three car parks here in recent months – the “Grunthalstraße” parking lot at the railway station, the “Klosterstraße” parking lot and the “Am Schloss” multi-storey car park. With the purchase of the multi-storey car park “Am Schloss”, Contipark was also able to expand its property portfolio.
Since November, the company has been operating four parking facilities in the northern Bavarian city of Erlangen through the takeover of the newly renovated underground car park “Eisert”. Contipark was also able to record two special successes at the end of December. With the takeover of the 400-space multi-storey car park “Martin-Luther-Ring” in an attractive inner city location in Leipzig, the company now operates a parking facility in the largest city in Saxony for the first time. And also in the banking metropolis Frankfurt Contipark succeeded in a special acquisition shortly before the end of the year. The car park “Turm-Center” in Frankfurt’s Nordend is not the first parking facility that the company operates locally. For years Contipark has been managing numerous objects near railway stations on behalf of DB BahnPark GmbH, the joint venture with the Deutsche Bahn. The car park “Turm-Center” with its 400 parking spaces is, however, the first property in Frankfurt that Contipark operates under its own company name.
Contipark has also been managing further parking facilities for DB BahnPark GmbH since last year – at the railway stations in Düren, Ludwigshafen and Villingen-Schwenningen. This means that the company now operates 226 parking facilities near railway stations throughout Germany for DB BahnPark GmbH.
In addition, the company relaunched its B2B website for Germany and Austria last year. The websites www.contipark.de and www.contipark.at were comprehensively revised in terms of content, technology and design. Now they offer business customers, partners, potential applicants and other interest groups a customised range of information and provide, among other things, an overview of the company’s competences, the location categories in which CONTIPARK is active, as well as a wide range of services. The corporate internet presence thus complements the end customer portals www.mein-contipark.de and www.mein-contipark.at that already exist for Germany and Austria.
