Number of P Card customers rises to 400,000

More than 400,000 drivers in Germany use the P Card. At the beginning of April, the number of users of Contipark’s customer card reached this new record.

The demand has also been unbroken in the past months – despite or even because of the ongoing pandemic. Because the use of the P Card significantly reduces the number of contact points when parking and thus reduces the risk of infection. It also simplifies the parking process. Customers no longer have to draw a ticket when entering the parking facility and save themselves a walk to the automatic pay station. By inserting the customer card at the entry and exit terminal of the garages, the parking fee is automatically calculated upon exit and debited either by SEPA direct debit or via credit card billing through the digital P Card customer account. In addition to ticketless entry and exit and cashless payment, P Card users benefit from attractive special rates at numerous Contipark parking facilities.

Parking customers can also use the P Card service at numerous barrier-free car parks near railway stations, which Contipark operates for DB BahnPark GmbH. The specially developed DB BahnPark app not only enables ticketless and cashless parking, but also offers its users the option of extending their parking time on the move if required.

Contipark introduced the P Card at the end of 2007. First launched as a test run in Berlin, the product was expanded over the years to the whole of Germany and in 2016 also to Austria. In the meantime, the free customer card can be used at over 450 Contipark locations in more than 200 cities in Germany and Austria. The number of P Card parking facilities is regularly expanded by Contipark, whether through the acquisition of new parking properties or the technical conversion of garages already in the company’s portfolio.
