The parking space manager CONTIPARK has taken over another parking property in Erlangen in central Franconia. The “Eisert” underground car park is located in the centre of the university town in Nägelsbachstraße and offers 262 parking spaces spread over two levels. CONTIPARK has been operating the property since 30.10.2020. The owner of the property and the company have concluded a long-term lease agreement for this purpose.
Both the underground car park built in 1978 and the six-storey building complex above it have been undergoing extensive refurbishment for several years. The refurbishment measures have already been completed for part of the property – including the underground car park. The renovation of the upper floors is currently being implemented and will continue until 2022. Among other things, the building comprises around 3.500 square metres of retail space and 5.800 square metres of office space. The arrival of a fitness studio is expected to complement the attractive mix in the near future.
The area around the parking facility has also been redesigned in recent years as part of an urban development project. Under the name of “Erlanger Höfe”, a hotel and office building have been constructed on 32.000 square metres of land in addition to new residential space. The direct vicinity of the underground car park, which also includes the “Erlangen Arcaden” shopping centre, has been upgraded in this way, attracting a large number of commuters, residents and guests to the city.
The parking facility offers these people high standards. Modern parking technology ensures smooth processes; the planned installation of electric charging points supports the expansion of electric mobility. The introduction of the company’s own customer card, the P Card, is also planned. Among other things, this card will enable its users to enter and exit the car park without a ticket and to make cashless payments. In times of increased risk of infection, these service aspects are of particular advantage.
Diagonally opposite the “Eisert” underground car park is another CONTIPARK parking property, the “Sedanstraße” underground car park. The company operates a total of four parking facilities in the northern Bavarian city.
