As part of the Europe-wide Interparking Group, European values such as democracy, peace and the rule of law are part of Contipark's self-image. Accordingly, it is important for the company to stand up for precisely these values, especially against the backdrop of the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine. That is why Contipark donates the daily turnover of Berlin city car parks to the alliance "Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.V.".
Numerous demonstrations against the war in Ukraine have been announced for the coming weekend throughout Germany. Also in Berlin, Contipark's company headquarters, a demonstration is planned in the city centre on Sunday, 06.03.2022, under the motto "Stop Putin - Stop the war", for which numerous participants are expected. In this context Contipark will donate a sum equal to the daily takings of 06.03.2022 to the alliance "Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.V.". Drivers who park their car in the underground car parks "Friedrichstadt-Passagen", "Los-Angeles-Platz", "Kranzler-Eck" or "Am KaDeWe" on Sunday will support the fundraising campaign. Those who want to take part in the Berlin demonstration on Sunday and park their car in one of the garages are doubly committed.
People from over 30 countries work for Contipark. Among them are people with Ukrainian and Russian citizenship and many more who have roots in one of the two countries. Contipark is therefore one big, international family and as such feels obliged to provide assistance to those suffering from this conflict.
"We are following the developments in Ukraine with great concern and dismay. As Europeans, we are aware of our social and societal responsibility and want to do our part to alleviate some of the suffering of the many victims of this war. As a multinational company, it is also important for us to differentiate: For it is not the Russian people who are waging war, but the Putin regime. And in the end, this war will only produce losers," says Contipark Managing Director Michael Kesseler. "It shows once again why a united Europe should be of utmost importance for all of us. All of us at Contipark hope for an end to the fighting as soon as possible."
